Unconventional Peanut Butter Uses - My Journey

Peanut Butter has always been my favourite food since I was a child. One of my earliest memories was going to Sylvan Lake, Alberta and eating peanut butter and jam sandwiches on the beach with my family. I became fascinated with peanut butter and wanted to find unconventional peanut butter uses aside from eating it. I started to research the ingredients in to understand what makes it so special. I found that the natural peanut oil had many attributes that gave it versatility when being applied to other materials. Then I experimented with unconventional peanut butter uses to find what worked and what didn't.

Peanut Butter is not just a condiment for consumption, it is a multipurpose instrument! On this website you will find four ways to utilize unconventional Peanut Butter uses that might surprise you! Unconventional Peanut Butter Uses - Peanut Butter for Shaving

This may not be the most unconventional use for Peanut Butter but I can attest to the advantages it provides! Below are the steps to shave:

  1. Purchase Creamy Peanut Butter
  2. Grab a spoon to smear Peanut butter
  3. Apply a light coat
  4. Use any kind of razor and move with the grain
  5. Clean razor betweeen strokes
  6. Wash off face once all hair is shaved

The oils in the Peanut Butter create a soft film leftover that helps hydrate the skin to keep it soft and youthful. The stickiness allows for the peanut butter to not melt away if you shave in the shower. The only problem is that the razor may become difficult to clean as the Peanut Butter sticks to the blades heavily. I believe this issue is easy to deal with as the result on your skin is worth it!

Unconventional Peanut Butter Uses - Peanut Butter Removes Gum

You have most likely heard of this trick from someone but may have never tried it yourself. Well I can say those people were correct and this trick does work! Although it may seem unconventional to use Peanut Butter on something like hair, it can remove gum from most surfaces. The worst place to get gum stuck is in your hair by some freak accident. The simple solution is to use copious amounts on the gum to loosen the gums adhesion and use soap to remove the Peanut Butter after pulling out the gum. Aside from hair, Peanut Butter can remove gum from shoes, clothes, or carpet. Try it out for yourself if you don't believe me!

Unconventional Peanut Butter Uses - Pet Care

Have you ever had trouble giving your dog medication or grooming them? This unconventional peanut butter use will solve your problems. If your dog is sick and does not want to take his medication, you can cover it in Peanut Butter to trick them into eating it. The oils help to mask the scent of the medication so the dog is not expecting it. Be careful as this unconventional peanut butter use can sometimes backfire! Smooth and creamy Peanut Butter creates a suction cup effect in the mouth and your dog can take a while to digest it. This is why I advise only using a small amount so the suction cup effect does not occur.

When grooming a moving dog it is best to distract them with Peanut Butter. I will usually start by leading my dog into the bathroom tub with a Peanut Butter treat so they are enticed to keep eating Peanut Butter. Then once they are in the tub or shower, place some Peanut Butter onto the wall farthest from the showerhead. Be prepared to add multiple dollops of Peanut Butter depending on the length of time needed to groom your dog.
